Top 10 Anime of 2024 Part 1

2024 is gone, and a lot of great anime released during that year. In this article, I’ve added the Top 10 Anime of 2024.

Just a reminder—these are my opinions, so if your favorite anime isn’t listed, send me a message, and I’ll try to include it in a future post.

10: Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Part 2

After losing his father, Paul, Rudeus struggles with grief and despair. He joins the Royal Magic University of Ruberios to sharpen his magical abilities and navigate his relationships with Sylphie, Roxy, and other classmates.

The series delves into his family dynamics, including the complexities of his polygamous relationship. Rudeus experiences personal growth, confronts his inner demons, and strives to improve himself. Season 2 Part 2 delivers a bittersweet ending.

9: Kaiju No. 8

Kafka Hibino dreams of joining the Defense Force to fight giant monsters, the Kaiju. However, he fails to qualify due to his poor physical condition.

Disheartened, he takes a job cleaning Kaiju remains, where a mysterious Kaiju cell merges with him and grants him incredible powers. Now known as “Kaiju No. 8,” he must master his abilities while balancing the complexities of his dual identity and the dangers it brings.

8: Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle

Ranking at number 8 is Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle, a movie released in 2024. I enjoyed it a lot, but I placed it here because many other anime remain to be covered.

7: The Apothecary Diaries Season 1 Part 2

In The Apothecary Diaries Season 1 Part 2, Maomao continues her role as an imperial palace “court lady” while secretly using her apothecary skills to solve mysteries.

She investigates a series of odd events, including a rumored curse on the imperial princes. As Maomao digs deeper, she uncovers a conspiracy threatening the stability of the imperial court.

6: The Boy and the Heron

The Boy and the Heron, a 2023 movie written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, ranks at number 6. It is Studio Ghibli’s latest and Miyazaki’s final feature film.

Set during World War II, the film follows Mahito, a young boy who moves to the countryside with his mother after losing his father in the war. His mother remarries soon after, leaving Mahito to adjust to his new life.
